fee Foster Pets & Animal Shelters requires an adoption fee. Rescue a pets only ask for a any amount of a donation for our classifieds
to be used for a future facility and for our foster parents needs with Rescue a pet.
Our Pets Are listed on our Rescueapet website. Pets listed on our website are currently with foster parents or located with the original owners themselves who can no longer take care of their pets. Pets on our website ONLY HAVE a limited time- from a week to two weeks to find a home before they are taken to the pound..
IMPORTANT READ OUR TERMS FOR ADOPTION:
1. Most pets on our website are neutered, and have had their shots. Not* all of our pets are neutered, had shots, or had any former obedience training.
2. Pet listed on our website are not guaranteed for adoption. Anything can changed under their owners care.
2. Most pets of our pets are under owners care, foster care. If pets are with our foster parent providers then we can assure an adoption. 95% of our pets that are with owners are adopted from our site with no problems.
3.. We can not guarantee pets behaviors or shots. We are not held legally responsible for pets on our website that are adopted by Rescue a pet. (You) as the new adopter are responsible for shots if needed or neutering. As well any training that your new pet may need. Most all our pets are housebroken or need the extra attention and training. We do follow up with your vets for pets that need there shots or require neutering. We trust that you will care for your new pets. If you do not agree with these terms Do NOT ADOPT FROM US. You may have the choice to adopt from the Human Society. our partners. Itmay be a better option for you, if you do not have the patience or time..

Rescue a pet has to offer another alternate option for adoption. We would like for you to also consider to adopt from our *NEW* Rescue a Pet Classifieds.
The Alleghany Animal Shelter is managed by
Twin Oaks Veterinary Hospital in Sparta, NC.
The shelter receives unwanted dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies dropped off by residents of Alleghany County. The shelter also receives stray animals collected by the dog catcher.
Adoption Policy:
1 We have no adoption form, folks just drop in, pay the $15 county fee plus a mandatory $8 rabies shot (if older than 6 mos.) and can go home with their new pet.
2. We recommend that the following be performed upon your pet's adoption (either by Twin Oaks or your own vet):
Frontline Plus (for fleas & ticks) ranges from $15-$20 depending on size of animal
Fecal test (for parasites) varies according to medicine used to treat parasites.

We have several animals that URGENTLY need to find homes! These pets have been at the shelter the longest amount of time and face being put to sleep in order to make room for incoming animals.
